V-Packing sets consist of multi-sealing components. They generally consist of a male ring, a female ring and several v-rings seals. The profile design and number of V-Rings as well as the combination/selection of materials are determined according to the operating conditions. Special high-pressure Vee Packing sealing sets are available for chemical, thermal and mechanical loads occurring simultaneously.

Female ring is assembled opposite to the pressure flow and therefore, besides supporting the V-Rings, it has to be highly resistant to extrusion. As the Female ring is particularly subject to wear, it is supplied with an anti-extrusion
ring in special heavy-duty applications.

Style V100 Vees conform to Army-Navy specification AN6225. These vees are used for pneumatic and low to medium duty hydraulic service.
Style V400 heavier wall and cross section design will withstand higher operating pressures vs style V100
Style V600 higher-profile design minimizes the number of rings needed to fill the stuffing box. The rounded top of each ring forces the lips of the adjacent rings to flare radially. The large void areas permit thermal expansion where binding may be an issue
Style 500 V-Packing is one of the most versatile V-packing designs used today. The hinge design allows the sealing lips to remain in contact with the surface being sealed without putting undue stress on the sealing ring itself.
Benefits
Commonly used for control valves, the thin legs allow for sealing with less compression vs other V-Ring designs.

Elastomer Energized Headed Rings
DP header rings are primarily used in plunger packing sets. The header ring provides a dual purpose of wiper and helps to energize the pressure rings.

Style PR PR header ring is the primary seal made of fabric and rubber. Seals both low and high pressures and helps to energize the pressure rings.
