Aramid is a great performer in extreme abrasive environments. Aramid fiber strands can be individually treated with a PTFE coating and a light, inert oil to improve resistance to caustics, mild acids, chemicals, air, oil gases, and solvents.

ML 4800

ARAMID PTFE

Each  strand is individually treated with a PTFE coating and a light, inert oil.

ARAIMD GRAPHITE

This  strong blend spun aramid of proprietary fibers are stranded together, treated   with a specially formulated blend of low-friction lubricants. An all-around   excellent general service packing.

.

This proven industry performer is manufactured through a heat treatment process of a synthetic yarn.

These yarns are processed through multiple heat treatments to achieve the desired carbon or graphite content.

Carbon/Graphite packing can also be treated with PTFE to help prevent color contamination and carbon migration.

ML 560

CARBON GRAHPITE

Proprietary carbon fiber is braided to operate in extreme conditions.

Because of its high thermal conductivity and lubricity, this packing can operate without flush water in some applications.

ML 4461

ML 4461

CARBON PTFE

Multi-Lok  braided high-purity carbon fibers made from a PAN base, with a minimum carbon  content of 95.0%.

(Staple fibers from PAN produce a more flexible packing   than filament fibers, which tends to fracture when bent.

Each individual   strand is coated with pure PTFE and cured before braiding. During the   braiding process, pure PTFE is applied throughout the body of the packing.

The packing is lubricated under hydraulic pressure with a proprietary   nonpetroleum lubricant, containing no sulfur, silicone, or waxes.

CARBON GRAPHITE JACKET

Finely ground particles of the highest quality graphite encapsulated in the PTFE   matrix to eliminate graphite migration, with aramid corners.

ML 4444

GRAPHITE

The highest quality chemically resistant fibers are twisted together and braided.

This packing has an extremely low coefficient of friction.

Graphite is a heat  conductor and dissipates heat in the stuffing box, permitting higher shaft  speeds and less leakage than other packings.

PTFE yarn has a high resistance

to chemicals and low levels of

 friction and adhesion.

PTFE yarns can be pre-lubricated to create a softer, more flexible packing with improved peripheral speed characteristics and exothermic properties.

PTFE has excellent performance in corrosive environments and can be coated with graphite lubricants to improve thermal conductivity.

Seat It

Stuffing Box

Packing installed without the Seat-It System results in the outer two rings doing more than 75% of the sealing.

RESULTS

  • Sleeve damage
  • Glazed
  • Burnt packing
  • Reduced sealing life

Stuffing Box

Seat-It is an installation system that allows each packing ring to be properly seated in the stuffing box.

BENEFITS

  • Increased packing life
  • Increased packing performance
  • Decreased energy costs
  • Simplified installation

braided packing seat-it

Seat-It allows the installer to seat each packing ring so that it radially expands and contributes to the sealing load.

This load distribution results in better control of external leakage and reduced sleeve wear.
