Spring-energized PTFE seals are typically used in areas where elastomeric seals cannot meet the frictional, temperature, pressure, or chemical-resistance requirements of the application. Spring-energized seals provide durable and reliable sealing solutions in critical applications and under extreme operating conditions in different industries. 

ROD & PISTON

 Spring-energized U-cup that uses a variety of jacket profiles, spring types and materials in rod and piston seal configurations. 


They are used when elastomeric seals fail to meet temperature range, chemical resistance or friction requirements.

ROTARY

  PTFE Rotary Shaft Seals (PTFE lip seals) are often used in applications where traditional elastomer solutions would be unable to deliver the required level of performance.  Equipment which is required to operate with high pressures, high speeds or that requires a dry running rotary seal, can often only be accommodated by using  products where the seal lips are manufactured from the latest filled PTFE polymer technology.     

 Our PTFE shaft seals are the perfect choice in applications where the operational parameters are too severe for  elastomer solutions. High shaft speeds, oil free operation, high pressure, long life and low friction are some of the parameters which align perfectly with the performance characteristics of the PTFE seals

Cantilever spring is made from flat metal strip stock, punched into a serpentine pattern which provides great flexibility with a moderate spring load at the edge of the seal lip, providing the best dynamic sealing.

  The geometry of the slanted coil spring provides a deflection range like the cantilever but with a relatively flat and moderate spring load versus deflection, making it ideal for friction-sensitive sealing applications.

Helical spring is made of a flat strip stainless steel that is formed into a helix shape. The geometry of the helical spring provides the highest spring load and the smallest deflection range of all spring types, making it ideal for low pressure, vacuum, and cryogenic sealing applications.

IMPROVE EXTRUSION RESISTANCE

In many applications, back up rings are used to prevent the gap extrusion of the seals.


Backup rings perform well in extreme conditions including:


  • High temperatures
  • Increased pressure
  • Larger extrusion gaps

Our backup rings can be made to suit any application and, in any shape, or size. 

  Extending the heel will increase the extrusion resistances. The extended heel can be added to most seal designs.

Anti-Extrusion rings (Back-up) prevent seal extrusion at high temperature and pressure.
